We have a couple of new staff members in our office: Romina Serraj is a new college advisor helping students apply to college and financial aid. Renee Platt is receiving her Master of Education in School Counseling and is interning with us for the year.
Seniors, apply to colleges by Halloween. Requests your transcripts to be sent online. Re-take your ACT tests in the fall. Attend college visits and college fairs in the fall. Attend a financial aid and scholarship meeting in Decmeber at GHS. Apply for financial aid (FAFSA) in January. If you are a free or reduced lunch student, you can apply to colleges for free and get a fee waiver for the ACT.
Juniors, take the PSAT in October. Get yourself ready to take the ACT in March. Start visiting colleges in the spring. Attend college sessions at GHS, attend college fairs. Do well academically - the higher your gpa and ACT score, the more academic scholarships you will get to help pay for college.
Freshman and sophomores: take a rigorous curriculum and do well in your classes so that you will get scholarships to help you pay for college. You will take the PLAN test in March both years.
